The formability is better in hot state, annealed state and new quenched state, and the strengthening effect of heat treatment is remarkable, but the heat treatment process is strict. The corrosion resistance is poor, but it can be effectively protected by using pure aluminum coating; cracks are easy to occur during welding, but it can be welded or riveted by special process. Widely used in aircraft structure, rivets, truck hub, propeller components and other structural parts.

Due to its high strength and good fatigue strength, 2219 aluminum round bar is widely used in aircraft structures, especially in the areas under tension of wing and fuselage structures. For example, 2219 aluminum round bar is used in aerospace rocket welding oxidant tank, supersonic aircraft skin and structural parts, and the working temperature is - 270 ~ 300 ℃. Good weldability, high fracture toughness, T8 state has a high resistance to stress corrosion cracking.
